The Play button gives scorers access to a wider range of
game events that may not appear among the standard scoring controls. From here,
you can record pitching mishaps, intentional walks, stolen-base attempts, and
other situations as they happen on the field.
This guide focuses on the additional scoring options
available through the Play menu.
While scoring a live game, stay on the field screen and tap the Play button located in the centre of the field.
The Play menu will open with the following options:
Tap the option that matches the event you need to record.
From the Play button, tap Pitching Mishap.
A list of available pitching-related events will appear:
Tap the event that occurred during the game. Baseball Blitz
will record the selected action and guide you through any additional steps
required, such as updating a runner’s position.
Make sure you select the correct option, as each event
affects the game record differently.
Click the Play button and tap Intentional Walk.
Baseball Blitz will record the intentional walk and update the field based on the current game situation.
Tap the Play button and select Base Stealing.
The Drag Runners screen will open, allowing you to
record the runner’s attempt to advance.
Drag the runner from their current position to the base they
attempted to reach.
Once the runner is placed at the destination, two options
will appear:
Tap the option that matches the result of the play.
Select the reason the runner reached the base safely:
If required, tap or drag the ball to the fielder involved in
the play. This helps Baseball Blitz record the defensive involvement
accurately.
After selecting the appropriate fielder, tap Done to complete the play.
After dragging the runner to the attempted base, tap Out.
Select the reason the runner was called out:
Tap or drag the ball to the fielder who handled the play. If
more than one defensive player was involved, select them in the order required
by the scoring screen.
Once the fielding sequence is complete, tap Done. Baseball Blitz will record the out and update the game automatically.
The Play button helps you record situations that go beyond
basic balls, strikes, fouls, and balls in play. By selecting the correct event
and following the on-screen prompts, you can keep the game record accurate even
when a less common play occurs.
The Play menu includes Quick Actions, Pitching Mishaps, Intentional Walk, and Base Stealing. Pitching Mishaps include events such as Wild Pitch, Passed Ball, Balk, Hit by Pitch, and Catcher’s Interference.
Select Base Stealing, then drag the runner to the attempted base and mark them Safe or Out. Choose the appropriate result, select the fielder involved if required, and tap Done to record the play.
